If you haven't used a Mac before stick with your Toshiba.
3 :
mac books cause cancer. and macs are for idiots and macs dont attract girls.
4 :
man wait......... Just wait for couple of months. Bcz Windows 7 is coming a new revolution in the world. Microsoft focused on multi-touch feature.I suggest u should wait for a while. http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=windows%207%20multi%20touch&search=Search&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&spell=1
5 :
get the new mac because it isn't too expensive and its better for the enviorment because it has a much longer battery unless u havent' used a mac before.

I really recommend just keeping the laptop you have now. Although I do not know your personal computing needs, Macs can get rather expensive... Plus the Toshiba laptop you've purchased sounds like a fine one. I would say keep it, if I were you.
7 :
mac books are only good if you are planning on using the Video editing feature, Photo imagining feature or music editing feature. Thos mac books are the trendy thing these days thats all there are really advanced in. Macs are only valuable to a person that is going to use on of those features heavily.
8 :
save your money and don't jump to the bandwagon. names aren't everything. plus macs are toooo confusing.
9 :
all mac computers are retarded

GET A MAC!!! They are WAYYYYY better than windows, no virus, never crashes, never has to get repairs, comes with awsome free software. You will never regret it! want free stuff? go here: http://www.prizerebel.com/index.php?r=1027583

I have been a loyal pc owner until recently when I bought the new MacBook. Best thing I have ever done! Whoever said MacBooks are confusing is not telling the truth. It's a bit different from pc but once you get used to it you'll love it. It's a pretty powerful machine and am thoroughly impressed with it.

Okay. Get the macbook. Get the friggin macbook. Go Immediatly get the Macbook. The "learning curve" you might hear about is about 20 minutes. 10 in the store if you let the geeks show you around. Windoz 7 is going to be Windoz 7. Windows.... with another number behind it. It'll look cool. It'll do neat tricks, and it will hacked completely inside of 20 minutes from public release, and then continuously until Winodws 8 or Windows FU or whatever else they decide to foist. Macs run on BSD Unix / Mach. That OS has been running computers since EINIAC. It works. Apple brought us the Home COmputer Apple Brought us the portable computer Apple brought us the PDA Apple broghht us the Ipod. The WHOLE world of personal computing is all about trying to keep pace with Apple.

What can I do to fix my new Toshiba laptop's CD drive?

What can I do to fix my new Toshiba laptop's CD drive?
I have recently purchased a Satellite toshiba laptop, only a couple of months ago, and the CD drive is suddenly refusing to work. Whenever I insert a CD the computer loads for a second, then the CD drive makes a strange sort of jamming noise, and it acts as though nothing is there. How can I fix this?

If it's any and all CD's you put in there it's most likely a failed drive in which case I would contact Toshiba to have t fixed; if it's only a couple of months old it should still e under warranty. If it is only certain CD's then maybe you just have bad discs.

If the item is brand new from a store you have a minimum 1 year warranty. You need to call Toshiba and tell them the problem. They are a large company and have decent tech support. If you purchased it from a private party you're probably stuck and will have to replace the drive. You will pay a pretty high fee to have a computer store that specializes in notebook repair do the work but it is probably the best idea. Good luck on trying to get this done. I've been there and done that.

Call Toshiba. If you can handle installing it they'll probably just send you one. There are usually only 1 or 2 retaining screws holding it in. It ain't rocket science. Some pieces are made to be replaced in laptops. Though the small phillips head screwdriver will cost ya a buck. Otherwise, since it is still under warranty they'll fix it ,but you may have to pay shipping. Call and ask.

How to restore Windows Vista Home Premium on a Toshiba laptop?

How to restore Windows Vista Home Premium on a Toshiba laptop?
Hi everyone, I was wondering, if I screwed up the computer or if I installed a different operating system would I be able to restore to Windows Vista Home Premium on a Toshiba laptop? If so, how do I do that, does a Windows Vista installation CD come with the laptop? Or do I have to use the recovery partition?

Most newer computers come with a recovery partition these days to help you restore the computer. If you mess up something, you can use the recovery partition or make recovery discs from it to restore your system. But if you install another OS over Windows, you won't be able to get it back because you erased it. If you want to install another OS safely, I would suggest either partitioning your hard drive to allow for the other system or install a virtual machine to run the other operating system in.

The function key no longer works properly on my Toshiba laptop?

The function key no longer works properly on my Toshiba laptop?
I restoed my toshiba A215-S5837 laptop from factory disc. Now when I press the function key, the screen turns blue and I get a message saying that windows stopped a program from harming my computer. Why is my function key not working properly and what can I do to fix it. I had already spent hours updating and installing many programs back onto the laptop, so I do not want to restore it again.

Hi what you are seeing is microsoft messing about with software, i wonder if you restarted or closed down after each install of new software as i have found in the past that i had to do that. otherwise this sort of issue sometimes occurred in the past. try plugging in a extra keyboard to see if that keyboard is also disabled on the function key. this is protectionism in the extreme.

the only thing that springs to mind is to place your xp/vista installation disc in your D drive . it will come up with a couple of questions . ie . do you want to do a re-format / or REPAIR?... If you select Repair , then it will simply search for any missing or corrupted files and either re=install them , or try to repair them . Its a straight forward wizard , you cant go wrong with it UNLESSS you opt for REINSTALL .. (Which you dont want to do at mo) Good luck :)
