Toshiba laptop with Vista is needing to be wiped but is there something I can do instead of taking it in?

My Toshiba laptop with Vista is needing to be wiped but is there something I can do instead of taking it in?
My Toshiba laptop has acquired some viruses or something and it is ruining my windows. I have copied the files that I wish to save. However I don't have the resources to go out and have someone wipe it clean or to buy a new laptop. Any help?

Use Avast Home and do a boot scan, quarantine/repair any found nasties. Use Malwarebytes to get lessor evils, and lastly ccleaner for the rest of the stuff.

Your computer comes with the resources to wipe it clean. You could just delete the partition and reinstall your operating system with your Windows disk. Never pay for that kind of crap.
4 :
Try System Restore, Go to Control panel then System &Performance.

IĆ¢€™ve had excellent results using a combination of free programs to clean up this kind of problem. I usually load Malwarebytes and Spybot search and destroy both are free if you still have internet. This is in addition to your antivirus program. Good Luck
