How Do I Wipe the Hard Drive of My Toshiba Laptop?

How Do I Wipe the Hard Drive of My Toshiba Laptop?
I have a toshiba laptop. Long story short I got a virus, tried many things to get rid of it, and decided that since I have nothing really important I just want to wipe the hard drive and upload a new copy of XP or Vista. Whats the easiest, best, and cheapest way to do this? Thanks.

When you bought your Toshiba laptop, you should have gotten CDs with it. You should shut down your computer, put in the CDs and press F12 when your computer starts up to see the boot selection menu. Boot from the CD and follow directions to reformat your Hard Drive.
2 :
go to best buy grab or go buy a CD but ask an employee for a CD for toshiba they should definitly have it just run the program its easy and its whipes all your memory and it will be good as new

How do I get a cd out of a Toshiba laptop that won't turn on?

How do I get a cd out of a Toshiba laptop that won't turn on?
I accidentally killed a Toshiba laptop, and there was a cd in the disk drive when it died. I should have gotten it out when I had the chance but didn't. How do I get the cd out now?

There is a little pin-hole next to the eject button. Unfold a paper clip and gently but firmly poke it in this hole. This will eject the disc.
2 :
If you get a paper clip and extend it out, then find a small hole on the cd drive. push the paper clip into the hole and the cd drive shall pop out.
3 :
Most CD drives have a tiny hole in them for that purpose. Just stick a paperclip or pin, etc. in there and it should eject
4 :
look at the optical drives cover ,, there is a small hole ,, find something like a pin or something like that to insert in to that hole ,, insert the pin in to the hole ,, press a little ,, try a couple of times ,, you should able to get the cd tray out ,,
5 :
There should be a small pin hole (next to the push button to open it)that you need something like a paperclip to put in it and with a little force the disk tray will open partially so you can then fully extend it and remove the disk with no harm. Then you can just push it back in like normal.

How do I get my Toshiba laptop's number key pad to work?
I have a Toshiba L505 laptop. There is a number key pad on the right-hand side, but I cannot get it to work. Yes, I tried the num lock key; the light turns on and off but I still can't use the numbers. The weird thing is that the arrows (corresponding to #2, 4, 6, 8) work, but I cannot type the numbers. Please help. Thank you!

Look in the user gide/manual under all programs or download from http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/home.jsp by model number and read section on using the number key pad.

How can I make a Vista recovery disc for my Toshiba laptop?

How can I make a Vista recovery disc for my Toshiba laptop?
I just bought a Toshiba Qosmia X305-Q705 laptop yesterday and it doesn't include any OS installation CDs or anything. It seems you're supposed to be able to make a recovery CD/DVD through the computer itself through a recovery cd creator program in the start menu, but I do not see that program there on this computer. Is there anywhere else on my computer that would be? Having to call and pay Toshiba for the disc is a ripoff and a hassle...

http://www.runtime.org/driveimage-xml.htm I always use this program to make backups. The great thing about it is once you have installed everything that you want, you can make an image of your entire hard drive. So next time you want to format. No more installing frequently used programs. =D Oh and its free!

Toshiba has a program under the start menu that is called Toshiba Utilities and use the Recovery DVD program... which will literally need 3 DVD's to do. Problem is, if you didn't make it right when you got the laptop, some of the data may be corrupted to the point where it may not make the DVD ... yea, nice.
