Pictures would help a lot for this... If it's not fully deattached, carefully wrap it in electric tape a few times and re-attach the part that's broken off. Sometimes if you hold your charger a certain way it will work, and then if you hold it a different way it wont work anymore. So a lot of this is experimentation with what will work. Once you figure out the best position, try your best to wrap it such that it stays in that position.

You can but off brand adapter from ebay for about $10. if only the cable section got chewed up then you can. Do this at your own risk. 1. cut off the chewed up section 2. Remove the rubber insulation to expose the wire on both end. 3. reconnect the wires by twisting them together (make sure match the color of the cables or you will fry your laptop) 4. use electrical tape to separate the wires(don't let them touch each other)

If the damage part of the cable is the power line (110/240), it's easy to fix with a pair of pliers and tape but the cable that carry DC power is a bit challenging, you will need a soldering iron and some skill. The converter itself is sealed and has no serviceable parts.

You could patch it up with electrical tape but I wouldn't suggest it. I've talked to tons of people who had the same thing and even with the tape it fried their motherboards. If you are willing to risk it, then you can patch it up. It can also be a temporary fix. However, I would still advise to get a new one as soon as possible. Sort of like having a blown out tire. Sure you can.. drive a bit but you can't tape the thing together. You eventually need to purchase a new one. You can go online and visit sites like ebay or amazon but I would personally suggest you visit Topmic instead. Topmic is well known for their great services and their durable products. They include free shipping and free lifetime warranty. Yes, lifetime. This means if the charger ever stops working on its own for whatever reason, they would replace it as many times as needed at no additional cost, for life. This is a great way to save money in the long run and a good investment as well. You should be able to find them online through google search. Best of luck.
