How do i connect my toshiba laptop to my tv?guaranteed 10 points in an hour?
I have a toshiba laptop and want to connect it to my 32" goodmans tv! Can some1 give me step by step instructions on how to do it, I want to basically watch something on tv from my laptop

imho there is three ways, one being rgb like a scart lead and vga cable , so the vga cable will go into the laptop and the red green and blue sockets will go into the tv, but this is only possible if you have these connections on your tv, other way is s video again you will need to have the connection to vga, in addition to this the other way is hdmi which is high definition so you need a hdmi to hdmi only if you tv is capable off this, or hdmi to vga or whatever your graphics card connection is then once you have the cable and laptop set up you should see a monitor pic on one of the function keys, i think it is f4 or f5 so something like that and that should be you setup if not then email me if you want anymore info thanks ian

How do I fix my Toshiba laptop when it says I have no connectivity?

How do I fix my Toshiba laptop when it says I have no connectivity?
I have a Toshiba laptop that has been going on the internet wirelessly fine. But a few weeks ago, it randomly stopped connecting. the wi-fi switch is turned on, and my other devices such as my home computer and ipod can both connect perfectly. the security settings are also the same. I have been trying to figure it out, and It says I am connected to the router but cant connect to the actual internet beacause my laptop has "limited or no connectivity". Please Help!!!!!!!

If your computer connects to the network through a broadband router , resetting (powering off and on) the router may resolve the issue. If not using a broadband router, or if resetting your router only temporarily resolves the issue and the error message re-appears later, continue to the following steps. If connecting to your network using Wi-Fi and using wireless security, your WEP or other security key may not be set properly. Check the wireless security configuration on your computer's network adapter and update if it necessary. If connecting to your network using an Ethernet cable, your cable may have failed. Temporarily replace your network cable with a new one to determine whether this resolves the issue. If using a broadband router and DHCP on your network, check your computer's IP address to verify it is valid and not a private address that starts with 169.254. An invalid address of the form 169.254.x.x signifies your computer's inability to obtain a usable IP address from your router. To resolve DHCP configuration problems, proceed to the following steps. Reboot your computer, router (if present) and broadband modem together, then re-test your connection. If your connection remains non-functional, run the Windows Network Repair utility on your computer. If your connection remains non-functional, update your router settings to change from dynamic to static IP address configuration, and set an IP address on the computer appropriately. If your connection remains non-functional, unplug your router and connect the computer directly to your broadband modem. If this configuration is functional, contact the manufacturer of your router for additional support. If your computer is connecting to your network directly through a broadband modem, or if your Internet access remains non-functional after following the instructions above, contact your Internet provider for support.
2 :
Try to reset your router. Try to disable your wifi adapter and re enable it again. Turn your wifi (laptop) off then on Restart your computer. Uninstall wifi driver then reinstall it again If after trying those things didn;t solve your problem then your wifi adapter is the culprit itself. Bring it to a computer shop and have it replaced.
3 :
1) Control Panel > Network Connections > Right click on the wireless network > Properties > A box will appear which will have 3 tabs. Click "authentication" > Un tick the " Enable authentication for this network" > Ok > Switch off wireless and switch it back on. 2) Control Panel > Network Connections > Right click on the wireless network > Properties > A box will appear which will have 3 tabs.Click on wireless networks > On the top check/tick " Use windows to configure my wireless networks" > Ok > Switch off wireless and switch it back on. If none of them work..im sorry!
4 :
You can also check out this wireless network troubleshooting tips article, probably could help: http://www.home-network-help.com/cannot-connect-to-wireless-network.html

Don't get a macbook air, they're too expensive, get a standard macbook.
2 :
FOR the money unless weight and portability is a real issue, go for a macbook or better a macbook PRO. Toshibas are great except they run Windows 7 that is no match to many to the superb virus free efficient powerful and elegant optimized for 64 bit MAC OS SNOW LEOPARD. RICK
3 :
It's funny that you post this question, because I have the Macbook Air! (Revision B). It is an amazing laptop. I previously had a Gateway, and after going to a Mac, I don't think I'd ever go back! I use mine for video projects for school and picture editing with iLife. It is definitely the best. Go to http://www.vinixcomputer.com. They have some good deals on MacBook Air's as well as on other MacBooks and laptops.

How do I find out how old my Toshiba laptop is?
i have a toshiba psafga-077019 rrp laptop which recently broke. how can i find out how old it is and what the value would have been at the date of purchase? ive looked on the toshiba website but i cant find anything on there and when i called their enquiries line no one could help me!

look in your up dates for the oldest date instaled.
2 :
That is not a valid Toshiba model number. With a valid number you could find out. ~
3 :
To find how old is the laptop look under sometimes there is a manufacturing date if there is no manufacturing date try to google the model + review you can maybe find dated forum or blog post with people requesting information before buying it or gives there impression on the product this will generally give you an idea on how old it is. To know the approximate price try to see if there is any similar item on ebay for sell "Buy it now" this price are generally a bit lower then it's actual value (do the math and try to estimate). To be frank laptop price is so low now you have brand new laptop for around 400$ no body bothers buying used or broking laptop. If your idea is to sell it try to diagnostic with parts are good and those that are bad and try to sell parts apart as replacement parts on site like ebay and ioffer. Hope it helps.

Sure, as long as he didn't activate it on the Toshiba.
2 :
yes, but the version must be the same. vista home --> 7 home... vista business--> 7 business... ect. Note, you can't upgrade vista basic. Finally, the bits must be the same so 32 bit upgrade to 32 bit os and 64 bit to 64 bit. Not too hard is it?
3 :
yes you can
4 :
it's possible but more then likely not going to work as it will need to read the toshiba bios to confirm that it's a legal unit to install it on there are 3 types of windows disks 1) OEM disks made for specific machines coded for each manufacturer, that's why almost any toshiba will work on the same series toshiba but not a HP /DELL /Sony etc 2)Retail / UPGRADE either full or upgrade will work on any pc regardless of who made it 3) VLK 1 disk multiple licence used mainly by corporations they buy 100 or 10,000 licences and only need 1 disk to load them from.

Also the sound of a slap and it even once said "I love you". Occasionally it plays three-second bits of songs too. Have you ever had this happen to you? And why does it happen?

if you go where they sell the charger they will tell you
2 :
Yes. Buy a power inverter with at least an 85 watt rating, plug it into your cigarette lighter and plug your laptop into it. Your car is not capable of supplying the proper voltage or amperage to charge your laptop without a power inverter.
3 :
You will need an inverter. You can buy one at www.tripplite.com. Watts=Volts X Amps therefore 120 Volts X 1.3 Amps= 156 watts. This means you will need to buy at least a 156 watt inverter to plug into your car cigarette lighter. I use a 375 watt inverter in my car just to be sure I have enough power. The Tripp-Lite PV375 does a very good job. I have tried the Belkin and a few others and they were all very poor compared to the Tripp-Lite I use all the time.

I accidentally killed a Toshiba laptop, and there was a cd in the disk drive when it died. I should have gotten it out when I had the chance but didn't. How do I get the cd out now?
Laptops & Notebooks - 5 Answers

1 :
There is a little pin-hole next to the eject button. Unfold a paper clip and gently but firmly poke it in this hole. This will eject the disc.
2 :
If you get a paper clip and extend it out, then find a small hole on the cd drive. push the paper clip into the hole and the cd drive shall pop out.
3 :
Most CD drives have a tiny hole in them for that purpose. Just stick a paperclip or pin, etc. in there and it should eject
4 :
look at the optical drives cover ,, there is a small hole ,, find something like a pin or something like that to insert in to that hole ,, insert the pin in to the hole ,, press a little ,, try a couple of times ,, you should able to get the cd tray out ,,
5 :
There should be a small pin hole (next to the push button to open it)that you need something like a paperclip to put in it and with a little force the disk tray will open partially so you can then fully extend it and remove the disk with no harm. Then you can just push it back in like normal.

How can I make a Vista recovery disc for my Toshiba laptop?

How can I make a Vista recovery disc for my Toshiba laptop?
I just bought a Toshiba Qosmia X305-Q705 laptop yesterday and it doesn't include any OS installation CDs or anything. It seems you're supposed to be able to make a recovery CD/DVD through the computer itself through a recovery cd creator program in the start menu, but I do not see that program there on this computer. Is there anywhere else on my computer that would be? Having to call and pay Toshiba for the disc is a ripoff and a hassle...

http://www.runtime.org/driveimage-xml.htm I always use this program to make backups. The great thing about it is once you have installed everything that you want, you can make an image of your entire hard drive. So next time you want to format. No more installing frequently used programs. =D Oh and its free!
2 :
Toshiba has a program under the start menu that is called Toshiba Utilities and use the Recovery DVD program... which will literally need 3 DVD's to do. Problem is, if you didn't make it right when you got the laptop, some of the data may be corrupted to the point where it may not make the DVD ... yea, nice.

its the same place it is on all Windows XP machines. Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disk Defragment
2 :
Airdogspace is right if you're using the Windows disk defragmenter with Windows XP, but that option may not be right there with some operating systems or if your computer has a third-party defragmenter installed. However, I believe all modern operating systems and third-party defragmenters allow you to take the alternative route of opening My Computer, right-clicking on the drive you want to defragement and selecting "Properties", then the "Tools" tab and clicking on the "Defragment now" button.

try updating the drivers for your disk drive.
2 :
This means that there is an error with your disk drive. You might want to get it checked out by a professional.
3 :
RESet the auto play setting in control panel to "ask me everytime"
4 :
Common problem with Toshiba laptops. They install a very shoddy CD/DVD drive with a Japanese sounding brand name. This brand name drive is notorious for failing. Just contact Toshiba support and they will replace the drive (probably with a Pioneer brand drive as they did with me). Your laptop will be away 2-3 days and then it will come back working perfectly
5 :
you probably have a problem with your disk drivers try reinstalling them with the recovery disk that you laptop came with
6 :
Well, I have one, and when I insert a disk it automatically plays it on media player or any other player. Or it would have a little window with all the choices like "Play on Media Play, Do nothing, download, and save in folder" Hope I helped PEACE♥

No problem. Use this..it is an awesome program that deletes every trace od an app, as opposed to window add/remove programs which leaves 80% behind. Its free, I use it, and handed it out to all family members, so I dont have to fix their PCs in the future! http://www.revouninstaller.com/
2 :
The best way to start with a complete new operating system and erase every thing at the same time is to do a system recovery using the factory recovery CD set. The CD set can be ordered from http://www.toshiba.com customer service by model and serial number. Another way is to buy a boxed new operating system. And yet another is to delete all word/excel files, pictures etc., remove all added programs from add/remove programs ( this one is slow and will not repair any system files or problems. Hope this helps

How do i fix my toshiba laptop charger?

How do i fix my toshiba laptop charger?
I have a toshiba laptop charger the has been chewed by a puppy..Im too cheap and too broken to buy a new so how can i fix it...I have electric tape but basically the charger is not fully de-attach someone please help me
Laptops & Notebooks - 4 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
Pictures would help a lot for this... If it's not fully deattached, carefully wrap it in electric tape a few times and re-attach the part that's broken off. Sometimes if you hold your charger a certain way it will work, and then if you hold it a different way it wont work anymore. So a lot of this is experimentation with what will work. Once you figure out the best position, try your best to wrap it such that it stays in that position.
2 :
You can but off brand adapter from ebay for about $10. if only the cable section got chewed up then you can. Do this at your own risk. 1. cut off the chewed up section 2. Remove the rubber insulation to expose the wire on both end. 3. reconnect the wires by twisting them together (make sure match the color of the cables or you will fry your laptop) 4. use electrical tape to separate the wires(don't let them touch each other)
3 :
If the damage part of the cable is the power line (110/240), it's easy to fix with a pair of pliers and tape but the cable that carry DC power is a bit challenging, you will need a soldering iron and some skill. The converter itself is sealed and has no serviceable parts.
4 :
You could patch it up with electrical tape but I wouldn't suggest it. I've talked to tons of people who had the same thing and even with the tape it fried their motherboards. If you are willing to risk it, then you can patch it up. It can also be a temporary fix. However, I would still advise to get a new one as soon as possible. Sort of like having a blown out tire. Sure you can.. drive a bit but you can't tape the thing together. You eventually need to purchase a new one. You can go online and visit sites like ebay or amazon but I would personally suggest you visit Topmic instead. Topmic is well known for their great services and their durable products. They include free shipping and free lifetime warranty. Yes, lifetime. This means if the charger ever stops working on its own for whatever reason, they would replace it as many times as needed at no additional cost, for life. This is a great way to save money in the long run and a good investment as well. You should be able to find them online through google search. Best of luck.

You *can* send it back to Toshiba, as it is under the one year warranty, and this sounds like a hardware issue. You did pay for that warranty, after all. end of line
2 :
Update the driver file
3 :
If the only device that doesn't work in that usb port is you mouse check the battery in the mouse it could be that the mouse is malfunctioning.

it would most likely cost more to repair it then get a new one, crystal displays were not used in the las decade, they are very hard to find

Get use replacement part and do it yourself then yes. If you have to pay someone to do it then no. It will cost more then what your laptop is worth.
3 :
Buy a new laptop even a low cost one will be faster than the one with the crystal display.
4 :
In my opinion, It's not worth. The same thing happened to ,y laptop. Laptops are cheaper than they were 5 years ago. A screen would cost you around 180 bucks plus shipping, plus instalation.. and plus the worries if the screen didnt get on shipping. Dont go to this trouble. Get a new laptop. You can see use the broken one as a desktop if you want to ( you need to buy an LCD monitor).

S-video cable usually but if your HDTV got a DVI input it can be a VGA cable with DVI to VGA adapter or if your HDTV got a VGA input then it can be just the VGA cable.

The touch pad on the laptop does not work?

toshiba laptop?
the touch pad on the laptop does not work. like i can move the mouse and everything but i have to click the buttons in order to do something (like press [X] (exit) or [-] (minimize)) does anyone know how i could activate that or make it work?

It should be a setting in your mouse driver. Look under control panel.
2 :
i would suggest going to the toshiba website and downloading the touchpad drivers
3 :
I have a Toshiba laptop, there should be a driver called ALPS that enables the touch pad feature. You should see the tray icon (near clock) if it's active.
4 :
I also have a Toshiba laptop. Just go to the control panel & go to the mouse properties & ajjust the properties if not press & hold the funtion key (FN) & a dialog box will appear then disable the mouse & again enable the mouse. Good Luck!

Toshiba just as cool looking as an Hp or Dell?

What would you think if you saw someone with a Toshiba laptop?
Okay so I'm a new college student and like all new college students, it's time tin invest in a laptop. I'm using my left over financial aid which is roughly about $600. So I was planning on hopefully getting a nice hp with windows 7 because that's what our desktop is and I LOVE it. But now my dad this Toshiba kick which I'm really not all that thrilled about. So, is a Toshiba just as cool looking as an Hp or Dell? Which would you prefer?

3 :
I think computer must be valued by its performance. (hardware). But if you interested in design. Toshiba, Dell or HP have many designs. Just use witch one you like most ;)
4 :
A computer is a tool to do work. I would think that the specs of a computer and if it suits what you need it to do is far more important than how it looks which contributes nothing to its usefulness. It may well be that the "guts" of a Toshiba contains the same (or better) components as a Dell or HP (or even an Acer or other brand) at that price point. People who have no idea what a computer has inside or how it works are left to compare how it looks which is not important at all. You need to see what you get for your money(processor speed, RAM capacity, wireless support, hard disk capacity. All those components are not made by Toshiba, HP or Dell etc. Those companies just assemble and market them.

I just got a Samsung N-120 netbook as travel PC. So far I like it. Nice good sized keyboard as netbooks go. Using XP as that is what my desktop has. Netbook is very portable and supposedly has 8-9 hour battery life. (6 cell battery). Refurbished from Overstock- $260. Serves my purpose. Good hunting and success in college. (Ohio State - 1946.....yeah, OLD)

http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/497949/MSI-A6200-206US-156-LED-Backlit/ This is the laptop I just bought and it look really cool and it work great. It is normally over $600, but if you buy it before the 14th you can get it for $500. Toshiba is a good brand, although admittedly they usually are ugly.

You do know that Toshiba makes more than one model of laptop - righ? And that it is impossible for anyone to tell you what features to look for, if they do not have a clue as to the model you bought - right? You may want to add a little more - any detail - to your question.
2 :
High-5 to Mcgoo. I'm just going to guess it's a Toshiba Satellite Year 2009 or something. It's a piece of SHIT. Acer Aspires 2009-2010 are one of the best laptops around right now. Yeah, it's an ok laptop. But not really worth the money. You can get a better computer for a lower price, and it seems you have NO KNOWLEDGE about computers at all.

try taking the battery out and using just the power cord. Sometimes that works.
2 :
How do you know the batter is fully charged other than the LED? You can't be certain of it. Most laptops now a days will let you remove the battery and still run off the AC in spite of the battery being gone. If it still doesn't run, look at the power supply being the problem or the motherboard being fried.

Battery may be bad, replace it.
2 :
Try taking the battery out and running on just the cord. If that doesn't work, then you have to get it fixed via Toshiba (if still under warranty) or a local shop to do a diagnostic. Hope this helps!
3 :
your battery must have been spoiled.you must replace it.I had a same problem
4 :
The engine which works everything is burned out so you have to bring it to the computer store or electronic store. Tell them what is happening and they might give you a new computer for free and ship all your information to your new computer or you can wait for about 2 weeks for them to repair the engine of the computer. Laptop: 5 weeks desk computer (big) 2 weeks. They may charge you for $50.00 but if you want it for free go to fry's electronics or target and also circuit city. Also get a new charger it may be burned out also. The will ask you to sign something before you get a new computer or fix your computer. If the people say The computer engine is damaged you would have to get a new one if you want to.

My toshiba laptop will just go black screened

Toshiba Laptop?
Ok out of the blue my toshiba laptop will just go black screened, i can't figure out why but it just does it every so often. Its brand new so nothing should be wrong with it, if anyone knows i would greatly appreciate it because this thing is new and i'm very mad that its already giving me issues. I think it might have something to do with Windows Vista. I've had all kinds of problems related to that OS.

could also be a loose lcd cable. it's the internal component that connects the screen to the video card. move your screen back and forth. if that changes the picture back then it is a loose cable. also check to see if there is a "fn" key operation that turns on the lcd backlight for your notebook. look for a blue picture of a screen at the top of your keyboard. hold down the "fn" key at the bottom left of the keyboard and then press that button. not all notebooks have this feature. Other than that make sure your notebook is not overheating.
2 :
This has to do with your power saver options. Just click on the little blue battery icon (with the hands around it) on the botton right hand corner of the screen. At first, when I bought mine, I though it was messed up because the screen would get dark after unplugging it, but the key lies in the Toshiba Power Saver!!!
3 :
Out of the blue, means in the middle of typing or when it is unused for a number of minutes. Some have a built in screensaver that will blank out the screen after a few minutes of non-use especially if it is running on the battery. Does a touch of the mouse or a key turn it back on or does it require a reboot. The first case can be adjusted and the second would spell trouble.

try reinstalling the driver for the touch pad. this should be a link to the driver you need. scroll down the list and click the sriver that corresponds to you operating system (i.e. windows vista, xp) http://12.36.127.150/support/drive.cfm if this doesnt work try fixing it in the bios, you get to the bios by pressing a button at startup. i dont know what button it is for toshiba but it's usually F12 or F11 or delete. and if that doesnt work buy a cheap laptop mouse, they're easier to use. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7975765&st=laptop+mouse&lp=1&type=product&cp=1&id=1153998861885

When I get on the internet on my Toshiba laptop?

Toshiba Laptop!!?
When I get on the internet on my Toshiba laptop it will just keep randomly opening more internet explorers of the same webite I'm on. I don't think the laptop has a virus because I've been very careful of what sites I visit. Is there a solution for this?
Laptops & Notebooks - 4 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
whether the website youre on is causing that, or you have a virus. do anti-virus check and visit other sites to see if it does the same.
2 :
Try using a different browser such as firefox, if the problem persists scan it. If you think your AV is missing the virus (if you have one), at the very least download a trial version of something like rising AV.
3 :
check to see if any keys are stuckdown might be browser issue might be maleware or spyware not necesarily a virus but can be trojan possible other issues too but without proper diagnosis can't say for sure
4 :
Hello The first 2 answers are good. A defective mouse can cause this problem. Are you using an external mouse? If so, power of your laptop and disconnect it. Power on your laptop and use the on-board device. Right click your Internet Explorer Icon Left click Properties Under Browsing History click Delete Click Delete All near the bottom of this screen. Check Also delete files and setting stored by add-ons Click Yes If you can get onto the internet with one of the open brower screens, update your virus scanner. When it is finished updating, close all windows. Open My computer Right click on C:\ Left click Properties. Click on Tools Tab at the top of this window. Under Error-checking click Check Now Place checks in both boxes Click Start Click Yes on the message box Restart your laptop without connecting to the internet. Before you Operating system loads, Check disk will start in a Blue screen. Do not touch anything - let it run - Windows will start when it is done. This may take a few hours if it finds numerous errors - it will attempt to fix them and retore data and bad sectors. When your computer starts - Do NOT connect to the Internet. Do a manual thorough virus scan of your whole Hard drive. This may take a few hours depending on the speed of the computer, size of the hard drive, number of threats found. You virus scanner may inform you have to restart your computer to remove some of the threats; if this message appears restart your computer. Do NOT connect to the Internet. When the virus scanner is completely finished, click on Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk Defragmenter Click on Defragment; If Disk Defragmenter has a message that deframenting is not necessary - do it anyway. Good Luck

Old Toshiba Laptop with pentium III and windows xp

i have a old toshiba laptop with pentium III and windows xp. i cant remember the username or the password. does anyone know how to hack, reformat it or a website where i could find this out?
Other - Computers - 3 Answers

1 :
enter using safe mode. probably you did not have a administrator password.
2 :
Perhaps if you can disassemble the laptop, there will be a small battery inside, less than 1 inch (not the regular battery). Remove it for 1 minute, then replace it and put the computer back together. Reason: that small battery was powering the memory that knows your password. Perhaps it's better to bring it to a computer store and have them fix it.
3 :
The following website gives you steps to hack into the system without requiring the username and password. However, you will need the Windows XP installation CD for access: http://pubs.logicalexpressions.com/Pub0009/LPMArticle.asp?ID=305

A new Toshiba Laptop?

I have a new Toshiba Laptop, I have only had it for a couple of days now. A couple of times now it has gone black. It isnt shutting down totally but the screen goes blank but still is getting power, all the lights indicate it is still on. I think it might just be getting hot. Anyone heard of problems like this? I bought a Toshiba A110 Laptop?

Toshiba Laptop??
I bought a Toshiba A110 Laptop just over a year ago and the Limited Warranty has run out, the laptop was purchased with a credit card bringing additional warranty but I am unaware as to if that would cover the large crack on the top cover of my laptop. Please help??
Laptops & Notebooks - 7 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
The best advice we can give is to call Toshiba and see if it covers physical/accidental damage.
2 :
When in doubt just call and ask, nobody wud be able to tell other then them bcuz we havnt seen the waranty nor the crack! So just call costumer support and ask!
3 :
I don't think it would cover physical damage, sorry
4 :
I'm intrigued - how did you come to crack it - did you perchance bash it in temper when Windows crashed yet again, giving you some meaningless error message - not actually telling you what the f..k was wrong with the bloody thing?
5 :
Usually warranties don't cover physical damage like that. Computer warranties are mostly for covering your internal components going bad. The crack in the top most likely wont be covered.
6 :
as warranty goes, no! unless you can prove it was something in the unit which caused the damage, eg overheating or a very bad hinge, you could try a bleeding heart approach direct to toshiba, u never know mention yahoo answers and they might look into it for ya! best of luck.
7 :
Cracked cover is due to neglect, its not covered.

ok so i wanted to erase my harddrive on my toshiba laptop, i did and now i cant get back into the laptop at all! anyone know what to do?

1 :
you have erased the system files and need to reformat using ur disk that came with the computer. Place the disk in before you restart the laptop.
2 :
Fiest of all......you ERASED the hard drive. There's the problem. Now you have to load a new operating system.
3 :
yo can use your restore cd or any windows cd to format your hard drive and reinstall windows then go to Toshiba's website and download the drivers for your computer
4 :
Computers produced by OEM, including Toshiba, usually come with a recovery disk (CD or DVD) or there is recovery partition oh the hard drive. Use one or the other. If you recall that there was a recovery partition, you need to find user manual to find how that software can be activated (in most cases you need to hit one of F1 to F12 buttons on start). Most likely you erased just your drive C and recovery software was not touched. If you have recovery disk - just put it in optical drive and restart machine. If none of these is available - try to contact Toshiba. They might be selling recovery software. I know for example that HP does. Good luck!

We bought a toshiba laptop and it seems to not be compatable with our 922 Dell printer. I have had 3 of my computer savvy friends download programs and try to reinstall the printer from its original cd and it still won't work. I really need a printer! Any suggestions?

probably need the vista drivers which probably never came on the original cd possible it is too old of a unit to run with the computer there are good trick one can do to get an incompatible printer to work on amy pc reguardless
2 :
If you just bought the toshiba, I'm assuming the operating system is Vista. When you bought the printer, you got a cd with the xp driver. You need the vista driver. Go to www.dell.com Click on Support in the upper right. Choose Drivers and Downloads. Then specify your printer You'll get to a page with drivers. The default os is XP. Drop down the box and choose Vista 32-bit. Download the driver installer. Run it and it will create a file in c:\dell\drivers. Double click that file and you will be able to install your printer.
